Nashville, Tennessee – Transtex, a developer of trailer aerodynamic solutions, announced its acquisition of a leading manufacturer of auxiliary power units (APUs).

At the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition, Transtex leadership explained that acquiring DClimate Inc. aims to help optimize industry-wide efficiency and driver comfort.

“By integrating DClimate’s electric APUs into our product lineup, we aim to strengthen our commitment to reducing emissions, improving efficiency, and delivering tangible value to our customers,” Transtex President Mathieu Desjardins told reporters at the October 13 meeting. “Moreover, we seek to reshape the industry’s perception of electric APUs.”

Specifically, DClimate’s objective is to elevate Transtex’s operations in response to market concerns and enhance overall industry sustainability goals. The Indiana-based company also noted that DClimate promotes an efficient HVAC project with a patented battery management system. It was mentioned that EPA SmartWay-verified DClimate technology complies with federal and California emission requirements.

DClimate CEO Martin Duffy focused on potential benefits, such as fuel savings and reduced emissions by decreasing truck engine idling time. He stated, “Joining Transtex, an industry leader, is a significant milestone for our innovative problem-solving team. Our mission is to provide APU solutions that optimize fleet efficiency and maximize driver comfort, and we are thrilled about expanding our impact.”

“Reducing the runtime of truck engines can extend maintenance intervals and reduce engine wear,” according to background information provided by the company. “This approach reduces the risk of expensive engine components failing prematurely due to excessive idling and significantly enhances resale value.” The system prioritizes driver comfort while lowering environmental impact and operational costs, which contributes to higher driver satisfaction and retention rates, crucial for any fleet operation’s success.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) and Hackett Associates report that the early peak shipping season is ending, with U.S. port imports expected to decline for the rest of 2026. May was the busiest month at 2.24 million TEU. Tariff changes and supply chain disruptions drove retailers to pull forward orders. Consumer spending remains resilient. Full-year 2026 imports are projected at 25.5 million TEU, up 0.1% from 2025.

TSMC revenue up 33.7%, ASML ships 86 lithography machines

TSMC reported $40.2 billion in Q2 2026 revenue — up 33.7% year-on-year — with 2-nm process contributing 3% of sales. ASML shipped 86 new lithography machines in the same quarter, boosting revenue to €9.32 billion ($10.69 billion). TSMC holds 73% of the global foundry market, while ASML’s EUV tools remain essential for sub-3-nm chip production. Both companies’ five-year net income grew over 90% (ASML) and 251% (TSMC). TSMC’s $100 billion Arizona expansion will support 2-nm manufacturing and advanced packaging.
